Taste of Dubai

SAVE THE DATE! 9-11th March sees Taste of Dubai back for a 10th time and it’s one of our favorite places to be when it’s on.

This year the line-up of international and local celebrity chefs includes : Gary Rhodes, Michel Roux Jr, Aldo Zilli, Eric Lanlard, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Mohammad Orfali and Tarek Ibrahim, Tim Anderson, Atul Kochhar and Paolo Pettenuzzo.

Food wise you can try dishes from 24 restaurants including some of our favourite new launches including Weslodge, Carnival by Tresind and Spice & Ice.

Music lovers will be delighted to hear that Billy Ocean is the headline act for the first night too.

FoodeMag dxb Tips :

We’ve compiled some of our tips to help your day go smoother.

Timing Is Everything – If you want to see certain Chefs, take part in the Beverage Theatre or join in a cooking class, plan- ahead and get there with good time to either sign up, or get a good seat.  We find that it’s often better to plan the trip over a few different days/timeslots to get the best out of the weekend and to not end up frazzled at the end.

Foodie Research – Wanna try some new dishes, or check out a new restaurant? This is the perfect place to do this, with smaller size portions available from 15/AED. Do your research on food, there will be plenty of different dishes to buy and try, we plan our food stops seriously, and walk along the entire line checking out the dishes on offer before going back to buy and try the dishes that have peaked our interest.

Don’t be Shy! – this is a perfect opportunity to say hi to some fantastic Chefs from across the world. Our experience is that they are usually friendly and have time to stop for a quick photo opportunity etc particularly if you approach them with a smile.

(PS did I ever tell you about the time I gave Jean-Christoph Novelli a lift back to his hotel when he couldn’t flag down a taxi? Probably the only time I can claim to have had a Celebrity Chef in the car with me!)

Take Plenty of Cash – there’s lots to buy whilst you are there from ingredients and gadgets through to books and kitchen equipment etc. Thankfully there’s an ATM on site for those unexpected purchases too!

Stay Hydrated and Cover Up – drink plenty and stay hydrated, wear sunscreen at daytime, unless you want crazy tan lines, and take a wrap or jumper for the evening, it can get chilly.

Have fun! And See you there?
